The Challenger remains one of the most popular and collectible musclecars on the market today. Its enduring appeal stems not only from handsome styling, but also from the solid performance engineering that went into it from the outset. Most notably, the Challenger’s basic E-Body platform could accommodate the entire Chrysler engine range by virtue of its front sub-frame that was borrowed from the larger Charger/Coronet B-Body cars.
This particular Challenger has been frame-off restored and is presented in Sublime with a black interior and has the R/T appearance package. The car is powered by the 440-cid, 390-hp V-8 engine with the “Six Pack” three two-barrel carburetors; according to the “V” associated with the fifth number of the VIN, this is correct for this car. Additional equipment includes bucket seats, center console, “pistol grip” four-speed manual transmission (console-mounted), black vinyl top, spoiler, woodgrain dash accents, Rallye wheels, power steering, power brakes, AM radio and raised letter tires.
