This 1961 Corvette is powered by the 283-cid, V-8 engine producing 270 horsepower, which would make it the version that the factory sent out with dual four-barrel carburetors. This unit is paired with the four-speed manual transmission. The Corvette has received a complete body-off restoration that was executed to a high standard. The chrome and brightwork also received refurbishment during this process. The car is finished in Tuxedo Black with Sateen Silver coves and a rich red interior. A factory tach, clock, heater and radio are also onboard. Factory wheel covers and BFGoodrich Silvertown tires are at all four corners.
The car is described as being in “clean, number two condition.” The upholstery is said to be excellent and the carpet fits properly. There are no rips, tears or flaws and the gauges are stated to be “perfect.” The beautiful restoration has excellent door fit, this is also true for the hood and trunklid on very straight main bodywork. The gaps are uniform all around, plus the engine bay is very clean along with the undercarriage. The black convertible top is like new with signs of little to no use. The optional hardtop is not included with this particularly handsome Corvette.
Of the 10,939 cars that represent the total 1961 Corvette production number, a modest 2,827 were similarly equipped with the respected dual-quad V-8 engine.
