This 1970 Chevelle LS6 is powered by the coveted 454 cubic inch 450 horsepower V-8 engine. The only way to support this monstrous engine is through a M22 “Rock Crusher” manual transmission; and that is what is present in this automobile. The presentation on the Chevelle is immaculate, the nut and bolt restoration was completed to very high standards with ever part of the car restored to as good as or better than when it was assembled at the factory. The paint was finished in red with black racing stripes which is a very desirable color finish. The interior is tailored with black bucket seats and an AM radio.
Unfortunately many of these cars had engines replaced, and this car was one. However, a new correct CE replacement block with the correct casting numbers is present. The correct components such as the cylinder heads, intake manifold, and carburetor are installed. During the restoration any parts that needed to be replaced were replaced with NOS parts. The front fenders, the outer tubs, trunk drop downs and quarter panels are NOS replacement parts.
The Chevelle has its original M22 four-speed manual transmission with the original Muncie shifter, the original 12-bolt posi-traction rear end with 4:10.1 gears and the wheels wrapped with new raised letter tires are also correct for this vehicle. The fuel and brake system have been attended to, and is in like-new condition.
The Chevelle was recently judged at a show in July, and it scored 996 points out of 1,000 points possible. Included with the purchase of the Chevelle is the original build sheet.
