From the start, reviewers and most of the public considered the Thunderbird as Ford's answer to Chevrolet's Corvette. While the T-bird did have a sporty flair and presence as a two-passenger open-car, Ford continued to promote it as more of a personal luxury vehicle for the driver who wanted a step up from a family car. Total 1957 Thunderbird production numbers were 21,380 units.

Powering this Thunderbird convertible is a 312 cubic inch eight-cylinder engine that made 245 horsepower from the factory. Providing smooth shifting is an automatic transmission. Inside the car is a black and white two-tone upholstery; AM radio and aftermarket Sunpro gauges that are mounted under the dash. The white exterior is highlighted with beautiful brightwork, whitewall tires and Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels.
