Ford introduced its two-seater February 20, 1954 at the Detroit Auto Show. Named Thunderbird, rather than a sports car, it was considered by the company as a “personal luxury car.” It was advertised in this manner and the public reception to this new line was welcoming and immediate. Among the standards was a V-8 engine, Astra-Dial Control Panel with illumination and locking trunk.

This 1957 Thunderbird is powered by a 312 cubic inch V-8 engine that is producing 245 horsepower and fueled by a rebuilt carburetor. The paint is finished in Flame Red paint and sports a white and red two-tone interior. This car has an automatic transmission, a hardtop and a Town and Country radio. The T-Bird benefited from new paintwork about ten years ago, and still shows to be in lovely condition.
