Portrayed as the replacement to the station wagon, this sedan incorporates attractiveness and comfort all in one car. This sedan is finished in maroon with wood elements that were refinished in 2010. Powering the car is a 327-cid straight eight-cylinder engine backed by a fully synchronized manual transmission. The tan interior is tailored with two, three-passenger bench seats, with a rear cargo compartment. The back seat folds forward adding two feet to the length of the cargo compartment.
Unlike other “woodie” wagons of the day, which used wooden passenger compartments mounted to chassis of a particular car, the Station Sedan used a steel subframe and steel passenger doors onto which hard wood panels were mounted. The only wooden door on the vehicle was the rear gate assembly. Neither a sedan, nor true station wagon, the Station Sedan enjoyed limited success and was discontinued when the 1951 Packard models were introduced.
