This lovely DeSoto Fireflite Four-Door Sedan is presented in Holly Red and Pearl White with a red interior. This is a wonderful original car that is a fine representation of a big fin Mopar. It has predominantly paint on a no-rust platform. This is DeSoto’s top-of-the-line body style that was shared with the high-end Chrysler’s of the period. This beauty is reported as “extremely original” and truly great driving car that has been little used over these nearly 57 years since it was built. The car is driven by a 361-cid, 305-hp V-8 engine and its pushbutton automatic transmission. The interior, trunk and engine compartment are as original as the exterior and looks like the day when these were new. The car new brakes and wheel bearings and “drives great.” Along with power steering and brakes, the DeSoto has dual mirrors, radio, dual antennas, exceptional brightwork design, wide whitewall tires and factory wheel covers.

This car is reported as being sold new in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. It sat in storage for a number of years and was discovered by a prominent North Carolina car collector who brought it carefully back to this cosmetic condition. It was then passed to two top collections in Ohio and Wisconsin before being offered here today, fresh from the estate of the previous owner. The car was featured in an “Under the Hood” write-up by Angelo Van Bogart in Old Cars Weekly in the October 22, 2010 issue. This is an opportunity to purchase a top-of-the-line DeSoto that rarely comes around.
