In 1961, Kaiser was coming to the realization that it had an image problem. The majority of people believed the Jeep to be a great…vehicle — that is, if you needed to work on the farm, go hunting, or if involved in some other industrious activity. To fix this “problem” they decided to introduce a new, more “upscale” version of the CJ-5. So in 1961, the Tuxedo Park was introduced as a trim package.

This white with red example is understood to be rather uncommon and comes from the estate of Bill Kirby, a well-respected truck enthusiast who unfortunately passed away last year. The Tuxedo Park added chrome trim elements, including the model badges that are on each of the lower front of hood sides. This vehicle is four-wheel drive, has an inline four-cylinder engine and has a three-speed manual transmission. The Jeep also has a white soft-top and removable canvas doors, step plates, side-mounted spare and chrome hubcaps.
