The “Rambo III Limo” is a specially built bulletproof vehicle, based on a 1987 Chevrolet Suburban that was custom created for famed action movie star Sylvester Stallone, based upon his specifications. He personally drove the vehicle in the Los Angeles area and even tested the bulletproof glass in the driver’s side 2.5-inch thick three-pane window by shooting at it with a .44 Magnum handgun, with a crack in the glass in mute testimony to the event. Powered by a 454-cid “big block” V-8, the Suburban is equipped with air conditioning, power brakes, power steering, CD sound system an video entertainment system. Protective features include armor plating, triple-pane glass, ETAK satellite navigation, a police-style radio, external speaker/microphone, sirens and spotlights. In all, the “Rambo Limo” weighs in at over 9,000 pounds and it was originally built at a cost of over $250,000.
