The Mustang debuted on April 17, 1964. When Ford was forecasting sales for their new pony car, they planned on one-hundred thousand annual sales. On the first day, dealers took twenty-two thousand orders. During the first twelve months after the Mustang introduction, sales sky-rocketed to just shy of a half-million sales. In 1966 Ford broke the one-millionth Mustang mark, only eighteen months after its initial introduction.
The 1966 Mustang GT offered here sports the “A” code 225-hp, 289-cid V-8 married to an automatic transmission. It is finished in Dark Green Metallic, black vinyl top and black “pony” bucket seats with a center console. Other equipment includes an AM radio, foglamps, styled steel wheels and the Rally-Pac, which is an optional tachometer and clock. The current owner reports this car to run and drive excellent.
