This Fuel-Injected Corvette is reported to retain its original drivetrain, along with body and trim colors. The Corvette has had only two documented owners. The original owner purchased the car in Flint, Michigan; the second and current owner acquired the car in 2011 with less than 62,000 original miles though it should be noted that the title shows as exempt. This very rare automobile has undergone a complete frame-off restoration. All major components have been rebuilt, including a rebuild of the fuel injection unit by Jack Podell. All original stampings and castings remain visible and intact.

The originality and rarity of this car have been well-documented and cannot be overstated. In 1958, only 9,168 Corvettes were manufactured, of those cars, only 1,007 received the 290-hp fuel-injected engine. Of the 3,422 1958s to receive contrasting paint coves, only 729 were painted Charcoal with silver coves.

This Corvette is arguably a rare rolling piece of history. It is well equipped with a 290-hp, 283-cid fuel-injected V-8 backed by a four-speed manual transmission and a Posi-traction rear end. It sports its original accessory removable hardtop, white soft-top, heater, Wonderbar radio, courtesy light, windshield washers, electric clock and whitewall tires with factory spinner hubcaps.

The 1958 Corvette Roadsters authenticity and history is said to be verified through the following documentation: original title, dealer purchase invoice, owner loan installment contract, receipts since new from maintenance, manuals for the fuel injection, Wonderbar radio operating instructions, owner’s manual, clock operating instructions, the original license plate registration and insurance policy.
