The first "Crown Victoria" appeared in 1955. It was a two-door six-seater hardtop coupe, part of the Ford Fairlane set, that differed from the regular Victoria model by having a stainless steel band, that 'crowned' the roofline, passing right over the car as an extension of the B-pillar line. The model was produced in 1955 and 1956. One version, the Crown Victoria Skyliner, had the front part of the roof, in front of the steel band, covered in molded acrylic glass. With many original attributes, this Crown Victoria is presented in the attractive Ford colors of Diamond Blue and Colonial White. It has excellent contours and good paint, while the brightwork is all very good and show worthy. The seat upholstery is a baby blue and white vinyl combination, and the headliner is white vinyl. The engine compartment, with its Thunderbird V-8 engine, is clean and tidy and mostly correct in its presentation from the Sea Clear windshield washer reservoir to the tar top six-Volt battery. Other features include the dual spotlights with rearview mirrors attached, extended rear bumper for the polished stainless steel Continental kit. Overall, this is a very clean example in each area and should prove to be a pleasing purchase for the next Ford enthusiast.
