Introduced in 1967, while the Mustang was already in full swing with several variants, the Camaro entered the marketplace in full swing. In its debut year, it was offered with several engines that ranged from the gas friendly “all show and no go” 230-cid, 140-bhp six-cylinder to the “pavement pounding” SS 396 V-8. With a base price under $2,500, it was no surprise that the attractive new Chevy was successful. The following year offered three separate 396 options including a 325, 350 and the mighty L78-375 horsepower variants. Camaro’s base SS 396 delivered 325-hp and 4,800-rpm and breathed through a Rochester Quadra-Jet four-barrel carburetor. As has always been the American way, buyers could order their Camaro almost any way they wanted. Buyers had several pages of options to choose from. The Camaro was not only a good seller, but it was also a success on the street. The Camaro became well-known for beating the competition at their own game.

This particular Camaro is found in near concours condition. As an L35 396/325 SS car, it is optioned with the two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission, AM pushbutton radio, console with gauge pack, heater/defroster system, power steering, power brakes, seatbelts and Rally wheels clad with redline tires. It is very clean and very presentable. A great deal of effort has been taken to utilize all correct factory markings, fasteners and colors throughout the entire car. The engine compartment, interior space, storage area and under-chassis components are remarkably clean and ready for judging. Offered in the very popular “triple black” color scheme with white bumblebee stripe, it is sure to be the hot ticket at any musclecar event.
