This 1966 Nova has been built to replicate the late Bill Jenkins L-79 Nova racecar. Bill’s Nova ran in A/Stock class at NHRA events, and was reputable for winning races against 426-cid Dodge and Plymouth Street Hemi cars. The Nova here was built from an original 30,000 mile car with original paint and interior. The engine and chassis has been restored with a fresh 327-cid race engine, four-speed manual transmission with a race clutch connected to a 12-bolt rear axle.
It is said that some of the parts that were used to restore this car came from Bill “Grumpy” Jenkins himself. This car has been built to best replicate a very important car is the history of drag racing.
