20 bhp, 176 cu.in. L-head inline four-cylinder engine, two-speed planetary transmission with an auxiliary three-speed gearbox and two-speed Hall Scott axle, solid front axle and live rear axle with transverse leaf springs, and two-wheel mechanical drum brakes. Wheelbase: 125 in.
In addition to light commercials, Ford built a one-ton version of the Model T truck, designated TT, from 1917 to 1927. It had a longer,125-inch wheelbase than the Model T and was fitted with a sturdy worm-gear rear axle. As it was outfitted with the basic 20-horsepower Model T engine, TT trucks were often fitted with two-speed Hall-Scott aftermarket axles to give them more pulling power. This one, outfitted as a dump truck, has both the Hall-Scott axle and a Warford three-speed auxiliary transmission, which give it a full twelve forward speeds and six in reverse.
This car was the subject of a frame-off restoration in 2009, and it was reportedly originally used by AT&T in Pennsylvania. It has also been thoroughly rebuilt mechanically. The detailing is extensive and correct, with side boards lettered for Ollie’s Trucking in Bristol, Connecticut. Model TT trucks are seldom seen at shows or on the road, much less for sale. This TT represents a rare opportunity to acquire such a fine example.
