Without a doubt the most famous Brazilian racing driver, Ayrton Senna inspired millions worldwide with his driving exploits, winning an incredible three Formula 1 Drivers’ Championships before his tragic passing in 1994.

According to the consignor, a former mechanic and racing driver and a friend of Ayrton, the famed racing driver got behind the wheel of this kart on 19 March 1994 at his farm in the town of Tatui in the state of São Paulo. Senna took the kart for a few laps on a day where he invited some of his friends to come and join in the fun.

Exceptionally well documented, the sale is accompanied by numerous written declarations from friends of Senna who were present on the day, confirming that he drove this kart. Furthermore, the sale included over half an hour of video footage of Senna driving the kart in March of 1994 on his private track as well as several photographs from the day depicting Senna, the kart and his friends.

Placed into storage after being driven by Senna in March of 1994 and never driven thereafter, the cart has been recently restored by the original manufacturer of its chassis (Riomark Kart Mini) and the builder of its engine (Tche Parrilla). Declarations from both attesting to its authenticity are on file. With the restoration work recently completed, the kart has not yet been driven, giving the opportunity for its new owner to be the first to drive this kart after Ayrton Senna himself.

Finally, 10% of the proceeds of the sale will be donated to the Instituto Ayrton Senna.
