Ford carried over its post-war "shoebox" design with minor grille changes to the 1950 and 1951 models. With its clean, simple lines integrating the fenders with the body, the shoebox was a complete departure from the earlier 1948 version. Interestingly, the convertible, with its wrap-around design and small rear window, became the darling of the lot. Restored with Coral Flame Red on a very solid and straight body, and with a well-fitting black cloth top, this example is highly attractive. It has matching red and black vinyl upholstery and a nicely finished passenger compartment. Features include a pushbutton AM radio, Magic Air ventilation system, fender skirts, and DeLuxe-only exterior stainless trim. The underside has been cleaned and painted, while the engine compartment is properly finished with factory style hoses, clamps, and wiring. One of Ford’s most popular designs, these later post-war examples will always remain desirable.
