The rarest Cord Front Drive or L-29 body style is the brougham, an elegant sedan with blind rear quarters. Only 13 examples are known to have survived, and one of the best known is the car offered here, which has been enjoyed by longtime ACD Club members James and Margaret Beale since 1968. The Beale family completed the car’s restoration, with almost all work performed by family members, in the late 1990s, and have enjoyed using it ever since in ACD Club activities; it has seldom been on a trailer, the Beales preferring to drive it to its destination, and has racked up several thousand miles all over North America. Still running well, it would be a superb addition to any Cord collection, and a wonderful tour car for a dedicated new owner who intends to use E.L. Cord’s original namesake as its manufacturer intended.
