A laudable example of Italian coachbuilt cars from the 1950s, the Fiat 1100/103 E TV Desirée Coupe is an extremely rare model that is packaged full of charm. This special edition Fiat, one of only three to have been made, was designed by Giovanni Michelotti and bodied by Vignale. Aptly named as ‘Desirée’ for its desirable Turismo Veloce specification. The unique edition features a highly tuned 1,205-cc four-cylinder engine that delivers a 10% increase in horsepower compared to the standard model thanks to a higher compression ratio and special Weber carburetor set-up.
This Desirée Coupe example was exhibited at the 1956 Torino Motor Show in its current combination of two-tone silver and black. The car was immediately purchased from the Vignale stand by its first owner and remained in his ownership until 2014. In 2016, the Fiat was purchased in Italy by noted collector Robert Pass, who displayed it at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance in 2018.
This exceptionally rare, Vignale-bodied Fiat 1100/103 E TV Desirée Coupe presents very well, with its welcoming two-tone interior that matches the stunning exterior. It is offered with two sets of wheels: steel for touring and Borrani wire wheels, including the spare, for concours exhibition. This coupe offers its new owner a unique mix of coachbuilt style with driving characteristics true to its era.
