Please note that this lot will need to be collected in Chobham, U.K.
Produced from 1989 to 1995, the Ferrari 348 was a seminal car in the history of the marque, being the last Ferrari designed by the great Leonardo Fioravanti of Pininfarina, and in terms of styling was a distinct departure from the 308 and 328 that preceded it. ‘TB’ stood for Transversale Berlinetta referencing the installation of the 3.4-litre quad-cam engine producing 300 bhp being mated to a transversely mounted gearbox.
This example was delivered to its first owner Claudio Ciani of Marino, Italy via Sa.Mo.Car in Roma on January 28, 1992 and has covered just 10,800 km since. Its current owner acquired the car in Italy in 2016 and its original service book shows a full belt service carried out by the U.K.-based Ferrari specialists at DK Engineering in March 2017 and a further service by U.K. main Ferrari Dealership HR Owen in January 2020, who have serviced the car while it’s been in the U.K. This work in January 2020 included repairs to the radio, and minor repairs to the lower front bumper, passenger side door mirror, passenger side door edge, and rear bumper covers, but did not include paintwork. It presents in condition commensurate with its low mileage; its Rosso Corsa paintwork retaining a deep shine and its nero leather interior supple and free from discernable wear.
Historically overshadowed by its successor the 355, the 348 is now gaining the recognition it deserves. With looks inspired by the F40 and Testarossa and 300 bhp on tap, the 348 was and still is a very desirable Ferrari, perfect for weekend thrills.
