  • A collector-condition, low-mileage GT2
  • One of only 303 GT2s delivered to the North American market
  • Just 6,300 km from new
  • Faster and lighter than a 911 Turbo

For those Porsche buyers who desired something even more potent than a regular 996-generation Turbo, there was the ferocious GT2. Boasting 456 hp from its twin-turbo 3.6-liter engine thanks to a higher boost limit, a larger intercooler, and a less-restrictive exhaust, the GT2 was rear-wheel-drive only and is considered by many to be a better driver’s car. Eliminating the Turbo’s retractable sunroof, one of its front radiators and automatic climate-control system reduced weight by more than 220 lbs and allowed the GT2 to handily eclipse the lesser Turbo’s already dazzling performance numbers. The GT2 became a true two-seater, with the 911’s traditional rear demi-seats being replaced with carpeting. For convenience’s sake, the GT2 retained air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, electric seat adjustment, and a simpler entertainment system. Porsche’s phenomenal carbon-ceramic brake package (PCCB) was standard. GT2s came with an uprated G96 six-speed manual gearbox, a limited-slip differential, and racing-derived suspension upgrades. The alloy Turbo-twist wheels were 8.5 x 18 inch in front and a massive 12 x 18 in the back.

Delivered new in Hawaii on September 24, 2002, this Porsche 911 GT2 was delivered in Arctic Silver Metallic with a full black leather interior. It was lightly optioned with Automatic Speed Control (454), Aluminum-trimmed gauges (X71), and black floor mats. The car then spent a decade in dry storage before moving to Bozeman, Montana, in 2015. In 2017, it was serviced and the front bumper cover resprayed. The following year new tires were fitted. It joined a European collection, from which it is now offered. This GT2 presents in excellent condition, with a clean underside and its driver’s seat bolsters displaying minimal wear. Showing just displaying 6,300 km from new, this would be an exciting addition to any collection of high-horsepower Porsches.
