Unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2009, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG featured the long bonnet, curvaceous rear, and statement gullwing doors so associated with its iconic 300 SL ancestor. Despite those nostalgic styling cues, it still broke new ground for the marque.
Not only did the coupé mark the first model to be designed and built entirely in-house by the Mercedes-AMG performance division based in Affalterbach, Germany, but it also launched with the most powerful naturally aspirated series production engine in the world at the time. The thunderous 6.2-litre V-8 motor was rated at 563 horsepower to edge ahead of the Ferrari 458 Italia by a small, but no less significant, one horsepower.
The example on offer was delivered new to Belgium in May 2010 and road registered two months later. Finished by the factory with Designo Agno Sylvanite Gray paintwork, it was attractively upholstered with Brown leather and features AMG Aluminium trim. The SLS was equipped with a rearview camera, AMG Performance steering wheel, automatic climate control, plus memory package for the driver’s seat, steering column, and door mirrors.
Accompanying the car is an EC Certificate of Conformity and Mercedes-Benz digital service record, the latter recording visits to official marque dealership Hedin Automotive Aalst in March 2014, November 2015, August 2018, and October 2022. At the time of cataloguing the odometer reads 11,095 kilometres.
