315 bhp, 4.4-liter DOHC V-8 engine, six-speed sequential automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, four-wheel independent air-ride suspension, and four-wheel power anti-lock disc brakes. Wheelbase: 115 in.
The Lincoln MKS (Mark S) concept sedan was introduced during Lincoln Mercury's media event at the 2006 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. This concept strongly hinted at the design direction for the upcoming flagship sedan, which was to be launched for 2009. The expressive design was defined by sculpted fluid surfaces, which conveyed an athletic nature and performance.
Its exterior includes Lincoln's trademark waterfall grille and 20-inch tires, which were the largest ever on a Lincoln sedan, and the engine compartment combines a new all-aluminum, 4.4-liter, 315-horsepower V-8 engine with a six-speed transmission.
Inside, the MKS features heated and cooled seats with 14-way power adjustments, a panoramic Vista Roof, and a variety of entertainment and convenience features, including adaptive LED head lights, an advanced navigation system, Bluetooth, and a DVD audio-surround sound. The instrument cluster is large, easy to read, and well placed for maximum visibility.
The MKS concept has spent the past several years as a display piece and still appears much as it did when first unveiled in Detroit. Of note, the rear passenger corner of the panoramic roof glass has been damaged and temporarily reinforced with adhesive material. This one-off design study continues to be worthy of exhibition and educational purposes.
This vehicle will run and drive but is not DOT or EPA certified. It cannot be registered for highway use in the United States and is offered on a Bill of Sale only.
