This model represents the last year of the second series of Thunderbird. The car is finished in Corinthian White with the interior appointed in black. The interior is fitted with bucket seats and a center console. The 292-cid, 185-hp V-8 engine was standard for this year with two additional 352-cid, higher performance V-8s available as options. This design of Thunderbird was evolving into the luxury car segment. The combination of comfort and power seemed to be a suitable decision for Ford, as sales skyrocketed.

After shattering Corvettes sales number with the two-seat Thunderbird, Ford executives felt that even greater sales could be realized by making their personal luxury car into a four-seater. By 1958 this was exactly what happened and the results lived up to expectations. The 1960 model differed little from the ‘58 and ’59; collectively these three years have been nicknamed "squarebirds" by collectors and fans of the marque. The 1960 was the last of this design before the "roundbird" of the next generation and as such deserves consideration by anyone collecting post war American cars of distinction.
