FOR THE LOVE OF RACING
The name “Carrera” has become synonymous with sports cars for good reasons. La Carrera Panamericana was once regarded as the most demanding endurance race in the world, and Porsche seized the opportunity to make its mark on Mexican soil.
This legacy of triumph and innovation bridges the past and present, paving the way for a masterpiece that honors Porsche’s enduring connection to motorsport excellence—reflected in the 718 Spyder RS Panamericana Special.
HISTORY IS IN THE DETAILS
In Zuffenhausen, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur crafts its most exclusive and unique sports cars, blending expert craftsmanship with meticulous attention to detail. Carefully specified by Porsche Mexico with no detail overlooked, the 718 Spyder RS Carrera Panamericana Special boasts a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price of 9,800,000 MXN. Completed by Porsche in August of 2024, the car has been shown on only a handful of occasions by Porsche Mexico, and it remains in virtually as new condition throughout.
Finished in Paint to Sample Centenaire Silver, the Spyder RS is fitted with 20-inch forged magnesium 718 Cayman GT4 RS wheels, each painted in Satin Aluminum and adorned with the TAG Heuer crest on the centre locks; the TAG Heuer and Porsche logos can also be seen on the bonnet, fully painted in Centenaire Silver. The 718 logo can be found overlaid on the front grille. On both doors and on the rear of the car, roundels in Signal Yellow bear number 55, matching Hans Herrmann’s iconic 550 Spyder driven to a class victory at the 1954 Carrera Panamericana. This is characteristic of all Porsche racing cars of the time, and now of this special 718 Spyder RS.
Inside, La Carrera Panamericana logo is stitched into the headrests, with both the seats and the steering wheel being stitched in Carmine Red. Further individual options include bespoke lasering of the cup holder panel on the passenger side dashboard reading “Spyder RS Panamericana Special,” individually designed and illuminated door sills with an outline of a 500 Spyder illuminated in the colors of the Mexican flag with the Sonderwunsch logo, individually lasered key panels to match the Mexican flag detailing, and the TAG Heuer logo embossed in the center console armrest. As a particularly special detail, this car is autographed by Hans Herrmann himself—an extraordinary gesture that connects this tribute directly with the legendary driver who inspired it.
In terms of Porsche’s traditional optional extras, the Carrera Panamericana Special is also fitted with the Weissach package, BOSE Surround Sound System, full bucket seats, the front axle lift system, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), and the Chrono package.
A TRIBUTE TO THE END OF AN ERA
The production of the Porsche 718 model with a combustion engine has officially concluded. This 718 Spyder RS Panamericana Special is therefore more than just a collector’s item—it stands as a historic homage to Porsche’s legendary era of combustion-powered sports cars. With its bespoke design and limited availability, this car represents the final chapter of a performance legacy that helped define the brand.
A PORSCHE LIKE NO OTHER
The attention to detail, design, and craftsmanship shines through every inch of this vehicle and it will never be duplicated. The historical significance represents the naming of the most exclusive Porsche model line, and recognition of the Fuhrmann engine as the Carrera engine. To win the 718 Spyder RS Panamericana Special is to own a defining chapter of Porsche history. This opportunity cannot be missed by any collector who wishes to add an immortal legend to their collection.
The intention is for the exceptional Porsche 718 Spyder RS Panamericana Special to make an impact beyond the purchase of the car itself. Therefore, a portion of the sale proceeds will benefit Mexican families through the social foundations TECHO, Make-A-Wish, and World Vision.
