Even in the context of a firm particularly renowned for redefining automotive possibilities, the RUF CTR3 is especially astounding. At first glance, the car’s Porsche influence is clear—the twin ovoid headlights and curving rear haunches—but the CTR3 is more inspired by Porsche than directly based on it.

Developed in collaboration with the acclaimed Canadian engineering firm Multimatic, renowned for its work on Ford’s Le Mans-winning GT, the CTR3 is built around a billet aluminum spaceframe chassis with body panels constructed of Kevlar-carbon fiber composite. Its rear-mid-engine configuration, combined with proportions inspired by the Carrera GT and 918 Spyder, gives it a poised and commanding stance while its extended wheelbase—almost 11 inches longer than a standard 911—gracefully merges track-ready performance with practical usability.

Introduced in 2012, the CTR3 Clubsport sharpens the already formidable CTR3 with further carbon fiber refinements across the fenders, door sills, rear deck lid, and roof-mounted spoiler, crowned by a towering fixed rear wing. Underneath, Porsche 911 Type 997–derived MacPherson struts at the front and a RUF-engineered multi-link rear suspension work in concert to deliver exceptional high-speed composure and precision. The sculpted Kevlar coachwork houses a Porsche-derived 3.8-liter flat-six fed by twin KKK turbochargers that produce up to 766 horsepower—enough to propel the just over 3,000-pound machine from zero to 60 mph in a claimed three seconds and on to a top speed of 236 mph.

Every aspect of the CTR3 Clubsport—its flowing bodywork, elongated proportions, and weight-reduced chassis—reflects a core RUF philosophy: building cars that are as groundbreaking to drive as they are to behold.

Chassis 6022, the CTR3 Clubsport offered here, boasts exceptional provenance as one of the earliest Clubsport examples produced and the very car displayed by RUF at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. One of only seven Clubsport variants built from an estimated total CTR3 production run of approximately 30 examples, it also represents a significant milestone in the model’s development. While earlier CTR3s were equipped with sequential gearboxes, chassis 6022 is reported to have introduced a PDK option with paddle shifters inspired by the Porsche 918 Spyder’s transmission layout, a significant upgrade that greatly enhanced drivability by delivering faster, smoother gear changes and allowing the car’s immense power to be deployed with greater efficiency and control.

Finished in Oak Green Metallic and accented with extensive carbon fiber detailing, it also carries the signature of company founder Alois Ruf. The cabin is trimmed in black leather with quilted stitching and green tartan fabric, balancing motorsport influence with the marque’s heritage and a resolutely driver-focused layout. This philosophy extends to the instrumentation, where green-numerated gauges frame a center-mounted tachometer with a 7,500 rpm redline, rotated 90 degrees to the 12 o’clock position in traditional racing fashion to optimize readability of critical engine speeds.

In 2022, the suspension lift control unit was replaced with a new unit supplied directly by RUF, while in 2023, the car was fitted with a fresh set of four Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, also sourced from RUF. With just 1,013 miles recorded at the time of cataloguing, this CTR3 Clubsport is accompanied by a RUF certificate of origin, service records, and an original RUF CTR3 introductory brochure.

Every RUF rewards even the most discerning driver with levels of engagement and excitement that are increasingly rare in today’s automotive landscape. For collectors in pursuit of something truly extraordinary, however, this CTR3 Clubsport offers the chance to acquire a machine that rightly stands among RUF’s most audacious and highly regarded creations.
