- A small-scale tribute to the model driven to glory by Alberto Ascari in 1952 and 1953
- Intricate tube frame chassis with removable bodywork

- A charming display piece or potential starting point for a drivable child’s car
Designed by the great Aurelio Lampredi, the Ferrari 500 debuted in 1951 and was intended to conform to Formula 2 regulations. This proved particularly fortuitous for Ferrari, as the 1952 and 1953 FIA World Drivers’ Championships would be run to Formula 2 rules—allowing Alberto Ascari to dominate both seasons behind the wheel of his 500, earning Ferrari’s first championship titles in the process.
This scale display car pays tribute to the all-conquering 500. It is built around an intricate tube frame, over which sit removable body panels. Details abound; the engine-turned dashboard is packed with a suite of vintage-style gauges and fronted by a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a simulated exhaust runs along the left side of the car, and simulated drum brakes are visible behind the wire wheels.
The car has a front and rear double-wishbone suspension and operable steering, but it is not presently equipped with a powertrain or pedals. Suitable for display in its current form, it would also be an ideal starting point for a drivable child’s car with fitment of a gasoline or electric powertrain of your choice.
