Porsche’s 991-series adaptation of the 911 GT3 RS made its debut at the Geneva International Motor Show in 2015, sporting an enlarged 4.0-liter flat-six engine. A facelift followed in February 2018, bringing with it an uprated engine that bumped total power output from 500 to 520 horsepower, with the rev limit lifted to 9,000 rpm. Externally, the car was styled more aggressively, with NACA ducts to aid brake cooling, as well as new side skirts and a colossal rear wing influenced by the GT2 RS.
Just a few months after its arrival, the 991.2 GT3 RS became only the third production Porsche to break the seven-minute barrier at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, following in the footsteps of the groundbreaking 918 Spyder. Flat out, the GT3 RS could hit 60 mph from zero in just three seconds. Offered an inviting stretch of derestricted autobahn, the benchmark 911 would reach a breathtaking terminal velocity of a stated 193 mph!
The example on offer was delivered new to the revered White Collection and was extensively optioned with custom tailoring. Sharing a common theme with the other contemporary cars of the collection, the exterior is finished in White with Dark Sea Blue elements. As shown on the options list provided by Porsche, a variety of desirable extras have been selected for the car. The White exterior is contrasted by glossy carbon fiber composing the hood, roof, mirror caps, and rear wing main plain. Dark Sea Blue magnesium wheels are matched by blue Porsche script on the upper wing. It additionally features the desirable, track-focused Weissach Package.
Stepping over illuminated carbon fiber door sills, one finds that the close attention to detail carries over to the cabin. The hard-back bucket seats are finished in black leather with gray plaid cloth inserts and Pebble Grey piping. Alcantara covers many of the touch points, including the door cards, center armrest, and lower dash, all with Pebble Grey Stitching. Driver inputs are controlled through a leather-wrapped steering wheel, aluminum pedals, and a Porsche PDK gear selector. Further, a white-faced sport chrono stopwatch matches the instrument dials, and the occupants are treated with a Bose sound system. For greater convenience, the Porsche has been fitted with a 23.7-gallon fuel tank and a front axle lift system.
Custom-tailored for the legendary White Collection, this 911 GT3 RS “Weissach” would be an absolutely spectacular acquisition for any Porsche collector. Showing in essentially as-new condition, with the odometer recording just 11 miles at the time of cataloguing, it is a pristine, over-the-top demonstration of the world-class capabilities of Porsche’s Exclusive Manufaktur department—to say nothing of its undeniable, purebred performance.
