In Ferrari’s own words, the 812 Competizione “is the ultimate expression of Ferrari’s concept of an extreme front-engined berlinetta,” refining the celebrated DNA of the 812 Superfast to unprecedented levels of performance and precision. Following in the footsteps of the 599 GTO and F12tdf, this 12-cylinder Special Series model introduced the most powerful naturally aspirated engine ever fitted in a Ferrari road car upon its debut. Generating a remarkable 819 horsepower at a soaring 9,500 rpm, the Competizione surges from zero to 62 mph in a mere 2.85 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 211 mph.
True to its name, every aspect of the Competizione is engineered for performance. The rear buttresses and unique carbon-finned hood are not mere visual cues, as they enhance downforce and reduce turbulence, contributing to a level of aerodynamic efficiency previously unseen in a front-engined Ferrari. The four-wheel steering system and Ferrari’s E-Diff limited-slip differential system grant the Competizione extraordinary agility and surgical precision on both road and track.
Production of the 812 Competizione was strictly limited to a reported 999 examples, each allocated exclusively to Maranello’s most esteemed clients. Rare by any measure, these cars could be further elevated via Ferrari’s Tailor Made customization program, resulting in spectacular specifications such as the one offered here.
Delivered new via Ferrari of Tampa Bay, Florida, this Competizione wears extra-range Prugna Opaco exterior paint with a pair of longitudinal stripes in Oro Opaco. Scuderia shields are found on the fenders, and glossy black brake calipers sit behind Matte Gold forged racing wheels. One of the highlights of the interior is undoubtedly the Poltrona Frau Heritage Castagno leather selected for the racing seats (size medium), further detailed with extra-range colored stitching and embroidered Cavallino logos on the headrests. This very classic-looking material is also used for the luggage straps behind the two seats, as well as inserts near the door sills. The remainder of the cabin is trimmed in a combination of Nero Alcantara and carbon fiber; the exterior stripes are echoed on the top of the steering wheel, as well as Matte Gold Dreamlines on the paddle shifters.
Keen observers will notice the number 38 in Matte Gold behind the driver and passenger windows—a nod to the 38 turns on the Circuit de la Sarthe, home of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, a location where so many great Ferrari racing cars achieved glory. Beneath the hood, the signatures of Formula 1 drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are inscribed in silver ink on the engine compartment air filter boxes, another direct tie to Ferrari’s motorsport legacy.
As a crowning touch, the motto found on the carbon fiber Tailor Made door sill kickplate exhorts the car’s owner to Campa un giorno e campalo bene—Live each day and live it well.
This 812 Competizione has been retained in single ownership from new, and at the time of cataloguing, its odometer displayed a modest 2,361 miles. Despite this limited use it has been regularly serviced by Ferrari of Newport Beach, California, including most recently a maintenance and oil change visit in August 2025, followed by a routine emissions inspection completed at the same dealership the following month. It is accompanied by a copy of its window sticker indicating an impressive price new of $910,390.
Highly sought-after from the moment of its unveiling, the 812 Competizione is a connoisseur’s Ferrari, celebrating the marque’s unfiltered performance pedigree and representing a thoroughly modern interpretation of Maranello’s storied history of naturally aspirated V-12 excellence. This example, with its remarkable Tailor Made specification, subtle details that reference Ferrari’s racing history, and a record of limited use, stands as one of the ultimate expressions of a model destined to be a landmark in Ferrari history.
