In 1993 Ferrari introduced a race-prepared version of its V-8 model for use in a new single-marque competition series dubbed the Ferrari Challenge. Ten years later the 360 Modena was transformed into a roadgoing racecar called the Challenge Stradale, which substantially reduced weight through the removal of sound insulation and other creature comforts. The model was equipped with advanced mechanical elements like an F1-style paddle-shifted transaxle, uprated carbon ceramic brakes, and a re-tuned high-compression V-8 that yielded an additional 25 horsepower (for a total of 425 horsepower).

Ferrari ultimately built fewer than 1,300 examples of the prodigious 360 Challenge Stradale, approximately 378 of which were specified for North America. The model was an instant classic with Maranello racing connoisseurs, becoming the fastest iteration of the already-dazzling 360 Modena.

According to a window sticker and a factory build order on file, this sensational Ferrari was finished in Tour de France Blue paint over a Nero interior with carbon fiber racing seats trimmed in Rosso fabric. Optioned with red brake calipers and a battery charger, chassis number 134806 was sold through the marque dealership Ferrari of Central Florida to a local enthusiast. The 360 remained with the Florida-based owner for nine years, during which time it accrued only 6,516 miles.

In early 2013 the Ferrari was acquired by the consignor, a dedicated marque collector residing in Kentucky. The Challenge Stradale then received a major timing belt service by a marque dealership in December 2013, and it has accrued only minimal mileage since then.

Now offered from 12 years of current ownership, the 360 retains a highly original and authentic character, displaying just 6,928 miles at cataloguing (reflecting a net gain of just 412 miles over the last dozen years). In preparation for its current availability, the car was treated to a major belt service in January 2025 including the mounting of new Pirelli tires, ensuring reliable mechanical performance for the next caretaker.

As a track-ready racing model specified for street use, this Challenge Stradale abounds in fascinating competition-oriented features, including the spartan cockpit with exposed carbon fiber doors, the rear Challenge mesh grille, and the plaque commemorating Maranello’s four consecutive Formula One championships. Ideal for enjoyment during blistering hot laps or display at marque gatherings and cars-and-coffee outings, chassis number 134806 is a beautifully presented low-mileage example of a modern Maranello classic.
