1952 was the last year for 61 cubic inch Panhead engine. Engineering had worked on solving continuing issues, which included changes to the exhaust valves, oiling and charging systems. This allowed for an even better version of Harley-Davidson’s venerable power plant. Also seen in 1952 was the introduction of a hand-clutch/foot-shift option for the big V-twins. Like any change from tradition, this modern arrangement took a while to take hold. By mid-decade, most riders had made the switch.

The bike being offered was previously in the famous Steven Saslow Collection. Like his other motorcycles, it was restored from the ground-up by Gary and Bob DeVincent in Provo, Utah. The Saslow Collection was built upon passion for the make and total commitment to historical accuracy, which is reflected in this machine. The Deluxe OHV badging on the front fender accompanied by the proper Hydra Glide markings indicates this bike was originally ordered with the Deluxe Solo Group. Being produced later in the model year, this Panhead has the “rotating” exhaust valves, which increased reliability. This engineering change began with serial #52FL3910. Runs as good as it looks. The period leather saddle bags complete this iconic styling.
