In 1993, Ferrari introduced a race-prepared version of its V-8 model for use in a new single-marque competition series dubbed the Ferrari Challenge. Ten years later, the 360 Modena was transformed into a road-going race car named the Challenge Stradale, which saved a considerable amount of weight by the removal of sound insulation and other creature comforts. The model was equipped with advanced mechanical elements such as a Formula 1-style paddle-shift transaxle, uprated carbon-ceramic brakes, and a retuned V-8 engine with higher compression and a resulting additional 25 horsepower, for a total of 425 horsepower.
Ferrari ultimately built fewer than 1,300 examples of the prodigious 360-based Challenge Stradale and it became an instant classic among Maranello racing connoisseurs, offering the purest and fastest iteration of the already-dazzling 360 Modena.
Befitting of a competition-bred sportscar, the Challenge Stradale on offer wears a striking Rosso Scuderia exterior over a rare Nero all-leather interior with red contrast stitching. The Ferrari wears Scuderia shields on the front wings, carbon fibre wing mirrors, and Rosso Corsa brake callipers. Inside the car, a pair of carbon fibre race seats are sized large, while the leather dashboard and seat material benefits from Rosso stitching, and a desirable four-point seatbelt harness, also finished in red.
Delivered new to Switzerland, the car shows just 8,724 kilometres on its odometer at the time of cataloguing. A tool kit, Ferrari books and manuals, and a car cover will accompany the 360 Challenge Stradale upon purchase. Desirably, the accompanying service booklet contains stamps indicating consistent servicing performed at Ferrari dealerships in Switzerland over the past half-decade. The most recent work was performed in July 2025 by Kessel of Zug.
The Challenge Stradale offers Maranello enthusiasts a track-ready 360 that could be driven competitively or just for fun. Ideal for display at Ferrari events, supercar shows, or running at a track day, examples with low mileage and desirable factory specifications are becoming increasingly difficult to find. As such, this particular 360 Challenge Stradale represents a wonderful opportunity to acquire one of Maranello’s best of the modern era.
