Don’t sit down in a 1962 Chevrolet Corvette unless you mean business. They have always been a true enthusiast’s car; this is an automobile, not for economy, not for transporting the whole family with their luggage, it’s just for you….to drive. It makes no pretense to be anything else. In 1962 it easily qualified as the most exciting production sports car that you’d ever driven due to its amazing performance, stopping and handling like an extension of yourself. It is easy to forget that in 1962, this was a state-of-the-art machine. They are rightfully remembered as such today and you’ll love it all the same.

This example appears to be very nicely presented in Roman Red with a Red interior and the fresh feel of a crisp, white top. Nineteen-sixty two marked the first year for the 327 plant, replacing the 283 from 1961. This Corvette is powered by a 327-cid, 340-hp V-8 engine. We do know that this car has the desirable code 685 four-speed manual transmission that was optional (11,318 received it) and cost the fortunate new owner $188.30 in 1962.

Nineteen sixty-two also marked the final year for a traditional-style trunk for many years in the Corvette. An AM radio, full factory instrumentation, stylish body coves, clock, factory hubcaps and whitewall tires complete this pure and efficient platform. Speed with style is a Corvette hallmark dating back 64 years. They distinguished themselves on the road and track; this Corvette easily reminds us of those special days; enjoy your favorite thoroughfares from an entirely new perspective and see what Corvette magic is about.
