In 1957 Porsche released the successor to the 550A, the 718 RSK. The car made its racing debut at the 1957 24 Hours of Le Mans, where it unfortunately failed to finish due to an accident. Porsche returned to Le Mans in 1958 with an RSK driven by Jean Behra and Hans Herrmann taking first in its class and third overall. A year later, Edgar Barth and Wolfgang Seidel successfully piloted an RSK to an overall victory at the Targa Florio. The RSK’s impressive resume and stunning looks have led many to recreate a car of which few actual factory examples were produced.

This 1958 Porsche RSK Spyder Tribute shows very nicely. It is powered by a four-cylinder engine which is paired to a four-speed manual transmission. The interior is completed in red, featuring a Nardi steering wheel, VDO instrumentation and a Gallenkamp dash-mounted stopwatch. Adding to this car’s collectability was its role in the film “Death Becomes Her,” where it was driven by actor Bruce Willis.
