The Chrysler Conquest is of Japanese origin and was known as the Mitsubishi Starion in the Orient. Rebadged variants of the car were marketed as the Dodge, Plymouth and Chrysler Conquest. In the United Kingdom it was sold as the Colt Starion. The Conquest is a sporty two-door, turbocharged four-cylinder rear-wheel drive four-seat hatchback that was manufactured and marketed by Mitsubishi for model years 1982 to 1989. The 1988 records indicate that 10,655 total cars were built, including all brands of the model.
The red with black example being offered is reported to be in original condition and appears to be very tidy in its presentation. This Conquest is powered by the 2.6-liter, 188-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine and is matched with a five-speed manual transmission. This is also stated to be one of the Sports Handling Package (SHP) models that were made available late in the model run of the wide-body cars. This feature included adjustable front and rear struts and one inch wider factory alloy wheels. The SHP feature was only offered during the '88 and '89 model years.
Among the generous features are air conditioning, factory floor mats, original factory radio with graphic equalizer, bucket seats, center console, pop-up headlights, steering wheel radio controls; power windows, steering and brakes. This very clean Conquest is accompanied by its original window sticker, service records and original owner’s books. While the approximate mileage of 34,000 displayed on the odometer is considered exempt, the owner believes that these are likely true for the car.
