Following a prolonged absence, the Thunderbird nameplate returned on an all-new two-seat roadster platform designed to recall the 1955-57 first-generation cars. The exciting 2002 Ford Thunderbird was positioned to lead a host of long-time enthusiasts into a new era with modern features and excellent performance blended with a nostalgic personality. Classic lines combine seamlessly with outstanding design and functionality.

The 2002 Thunderbird came to market in the summer of 2001 as a limited niche production model aimed at 20,000 to 25,000 units of annual production. It won critical acclaim for its modern interpretation of the classic original roadster styling and was named Motor Trend magazine's "Car of the Year."

Finished in Whisper White with a stylish two-tone red and black interior; the Thunderbird possesses a sporty elegance that is reminisce of the initial cars of the mid-‘50s, just as intended. Power is derived from a 3.9-liter, 252-hp V-8 engine that is paired with a five-speed automatic that is smooth and responsive. Inside the 2002 Ford Thunderbird, you are surrounded with the comfort of leather-clad fittings, air conditioning, tilt/telescopic steering wheel, intermittent wipers, remote trunk release, AM/FM/CD with six-CD changer, rear window defogger (on removable hardtop), steering wheel controls; power windows, door locks, seats, soft-top, windows, steering and four-wheel disc brakes with ABS. Chromed alloy factory wheels, round headlights, eggcrate grille and the porthole on the hardtop complete the exterior with retro flair.

This is reported as a one owner car from new that has been garage-kept in a collector’s museum and has under 1,400 actual miles. The original Ford window sticker, top boot, original books, instructional CDs and media pamphlets accompany this well-preserved example.
