Nicely presented in always appealing colors, this 1966 VW has been modified extensively in a first-class manner. You immediately notice the body changes that include tightened gaps, shaved wipers, exhaust cutouts, shaved parking lights, shaved and tucked bumpers, no fender welting, custom firewall and car doors, mini-tubbed, custom dash and trim, icepick door handles, plus early taillights and decklid.

The 1600 dual relief case engine is now at 2180-cc with 92-mm Mahle pistons, Mahle rings, Engle 120 cam and 8.5:1 compression, plus Weber 40 carburetors. The VW has a manual transmission and is chocked full of custom features and offers a virtual “who’s who” of top-flight component manufacturers represented by Budnik, Billet Specialties, Air Ride Technologies, Classic and more. All wires are hidden, there are many polished elements, along with Budnik Gassers, Yokohama S Drivers and plenty of spirit typified by the 1960s Volkswagen generation.
