The El Camino always had distinctive styling that was portrayed in a long, low profile all of its own. The Chevrolet El Camino was said to be either “Chevy’s sportiest truck or hardest working car. Or both.”

The El Camino 'passenger-car pickup' was first introduced in 1959 and was, along with the 1960 edition, based on the full-size Chevrolet. Following a three-year pause, the El Camino resumed for 1964, as an offshoot of the new intermediate-sized 1964 Chevelle. The restyled 1968 El Camino was as sleek as any vehicle with a pickup bed could be. That same year, the El Camino was finally presented with Super Sport equipment, and buyers could fully partake of the additional musclecar options offered for the Chevelle SS.

This 1971 El Camino has SS badging and is finished in blue with split hood stripes and a black interior. This particular vehicle is powered by the highly respected 454-cid, 300-hp V-8 engine that is matched to a floor-shift four-speed manual transmission. Along with the cowl induction hood, this El Camino has tilt steering column, air conditioning, dual sideview mirrors, aftermarket gauges, wood center console detail, Rally wheels, power steering and power brakes. The vehicle is presented in an orderly manner and rides on BFGoodrich T/A Radial tires.
