The 1981 Corvette was said to be a rolling showcase of new technology, new materials and new thinking – all part of the evolutionary process that continues year after year. Adherence to that principal of engineering excellence was applied to all areas of the car; from the front bumpers to the aircraft-inspired cockpit to the new rear suspension system. Sometimes underappreciated, this era of Corvette was considered among the most renowned two-seater sports cars available at the time. The Corvette was finely honed, highly reliable, well-appointed and produced sufficient power for most, and looked good while doing it.

This 1981 Chevrolet Corvette is reported to have been driven little and is finished in Red and features a 350-cid V-8 engine and a Turbo-HydraMatic transmission; it appears to be in very clean and exceptional condition. Factory options on this car include removable glass roof panels (T-top), while the red interior is perfectly matched. Additional factory equipment includes tilt steering, remote sport mirrors, N90 polished factory alloy wheels, air conditioning; power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, door locks and windows. The coupe also has a radio, tape player combination with (what appears to be) the uncommon factory CB radio option. Numerous innovations and improvements were introduced on the Corvette in 1981 including a fiberglass-reinforced single-leaf rear spring suspension, a Computer Command Control system, an auxiliary electric cooling fan and stainless-steel, free flowing exhaust manifolds.
