With nicely configured “scallop-type” design that runs along the sides of the vehicle; this Studebaker Transtar Deluxe Pickup runs with a V-8 engine that has been upgraded with various performance equipment which includes components from Offenhauser. This unit is connected to a floor-shift manual transmission.

The truck is beautifully presented in a white over light blue color scheme and also features dual rearview mirrors, Firestone whitewall tires, side window shades, painted steel wheels with caps that appear factory based and look like the style of “baby Moons.” Uncommon and nicely finished throughout, this Studebaker is certain to draw numerous compliments and interest.

The model year of 1958 could very well have been the final year for Studebaker-Packard as car and truck sales for that year were the lowest since 1945. Then, in the fall of 1958, Studebaker introduced its 1959 Lark and everything turned around – at least for a while. The Studebaker automobiles and trucks are an important part of the history of South Bend, Indiana and the struggle for survival in an era that claimed more than one automobile manufacturer.
