Some say that the American public has a road romance with the Ford Mustang. At the time of availability, the Mustang represented the only convertible produced by Ford Division – and was recognized as the lowest priced U.S.-built convertible in the personal sporty car field.

This particular example is finished, and looks extremely clean, in yellow with a black “hockey stick” stripe and a white soft-top, plus white vinyl interior. The car is reported to be cosmetically restored with a “fairly recent” repaint, power steering, power brakes, 14-inch chrome wheels, BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires, bucket seats and center console. Originally this Mustang was powered by an inline six-cylinder engine. This status has been enhanced to a 302-cid V-8 engine that is upgraded with an Edelbrock carburetor and intake manifold, Mallory ignition, dress-up kit, headers and dual exhaust. This unit gives you some extra power and is connected to an automatic transmission.

The Mustang is further stated as being a great running, driver-quality car with straight trim, good panel and door fit and nice woodgrain three-spoke steering wheel. The convertible top does show some age and there are slight paint defects on the front bumper. The carpet, dash and center console all show similar age and the top is in working condition, plus the vinyl seats show no major flaws. Overall, this fun and desirable 1973 Mustang is overall rated as a “#3 car.”
