This well-optioned, fully restored, 1958 Ford Ranchero represents only the second year of production for the new utility coupe by Ford. Further, this stylish pickup/automobile hybrid has been fully restored to very fine standards.

The 1958 model is also far rarer than the 1957 models, and one of only 1,471 built in the standard body style in 1958 – so rare in fact, that we have not, until now, been fortunate to have one on offer. Any avid Ford collector who has an empty space in their collection will want to take notice.

This Ranchero has also led a charmed life. Testimony to that fact is a cargo bed that displays virtually no dents or any signs of use, coupled with an interior that still sports some of the original equipment, including the headliner and lower door panels, which remain in outstanding condition. Hailing from a dry Texas climate, the body shows no evidence of chassis deficiencies or past bodywork. The wheel wells, quarter panels, rocker panels and doors display no evidence of corrosion or damage from the elements. It is truly one of the best bodies you are ever likely to discover – and deserves your expert inspection.

Further, this Ranchero has also been the recipient of a frame-on restoration that took nearly five years to complete. Most of the chrome and stainless is new or has been professionally polished and shines to near perfection. The interior has a lot of original components. The upholstery and carpet are new. The body was stripped carefully by hand to the bare metal and repainted in the original Silverstone Blue and Colonial White two-tone paint scheme. Five brand new wide whitewalls were installed to further compliment the presentation.

The engine and transmission may possibly be original to the car as both the 292 “Y-Block” Ford V-8 and three-speed manual transmission are correct to the original Ford data plate. The transmission is also duly noted from the factory as a “code 2” overdrive unit, which is still on the car but has never been engaged or tested. The chassis is in very nice condition, solid and presents well. The exhaust system is brand new from the manifolds back to the exhaust tips. The entire brake system is new. Additionally, many of the internal components of the transmission are also new. Other items to note are an original working radio, spotlight and optional chrome crossbar on the front bumper configuration. The car also runs and drives well and starts up quickly due to an internally enclosed PerTronix ignition module, which adds to the reliability of this Ranchero. The restoration effort has been complimented by several show wins including Best of Show, Best Ford and Best 1950s to name a few.

Whether you’re an avid Ford collector, enthusiast or simply want to drive something no one else has to your local cruise night or car show, this stunning 1958 Ford Ranchero is deserving of your close examination and fastidious perusal.
