Starting life as a Lincoln Capri Special Custom Coupe with all of the luxury and prestige you could want in a fine car; this example has been transformed into a racecar equipped for road racing and as such, won its Class at the 2005 running of the famous La Carrera Panamericana. It is powered by a 332-cid V-8 which is connected to a floor-shift automatic transmission and included in the many race-oriented components are a fuel cell, rollbar system, individual competition-style seats (front only), competition belts, headers with exit ports in front of the doors, full instrumentation, fire bottle, competition-style steering wheel, steel wheels without caps, sponsor and manufacturer graphics and an array of toggle switches for systems operations. The racecar still displays its classic lines, distinctive bright trim elements, two-tone paint and fender skirts for an individual period look.
