This land and water excursion vehicle started as a rust-free car that was stripped to bare metal, bead blasted and treated to a ground-up restoration. The restoration includes the use of many of the vendor’s private collection of N.O.S. parts, including all new chrome, gauges and additional brightwork. Both the engine and transmission were also rebuilt. After nearly 2,000 hours of renewing this Amphicar; the craft was nautically-themed in Lagoon Blue with a white vinyl top and complementary white and blue interior, that is correct to factory specifications. It is powered by a 1,147-cc inline four-cylinder engine that is backed by a four-speed manual transmission.

Also new to the Amphicar since the rebuilding includes radial wide whitewall tires, cables, heater, choke and brakes. It is also fit with double bilge pumps, hidden stereo with antenna and negative ground with a new, modern alternator. “Blue Boy,” as the Amphicar has been affectionately named, was built to swim and drive, and is reported to do both quite well. The vehicle has approximately 250 miles since the completion of the restoration while being used for road and sea trials to confirm that “Blue Boy” is issue free.
