This rare 429 Super Cobra Jet Drag Pack Mach 1 has a great story. It was recently acquired from its original owner, a now 86 year old lady that put 54,703 actual miles on the Ford during her ownership. We are advised only 531 Super Cobra Jet cars were produced; this example has its correct drivetrain and is “unmolested and original, from the factory spare tire to the smog pump on the engine.”

This special Light Pewter with black interior Mach 1 runs the rare and desirable 429-cid Super Cobra Jet V-8 engine that is matched to a close-ratio four-speed manual transmission and a Traction-Lok rear end. Among the equipment on this fantastic car are a functional ram air induction hood, dual locking hood pins, front and rear spoilers, uncommon factory hubcaps and trim rings, Goodyear Polyglas tires, high-rpm tachometer, plus many other (un-specified) Drag Pack standards.

This 429 SCJ Drag Pack comes with its original window sticker, buyer’s order, invoice and all Marti Report documentation regarding this very rare brute. According to Mustang Monthly magazine, the 1971 Ford Mustang 429 SCJ Drag Pack Mach 1 was voted among the “baddest” Mustangs of all time. This is a unique opportunity to get a great musclecar with a fabulous history.
