The uncommon 1941 Ford Special line is usually thought to be best represented by the popular three-passenger club coupe design. This attractive coupe offers correct and largely original features inside and out. This car is powered by the 221-cid, 90-hp V-8 engine that is mated to a three-speed column-mounted manual transmission.
This Ford Special is described as having low mileage and is primarily original in condition, with never having experienced any rust, and is said to run and drive in an excellent manner. The Ford is finished in factory Black, with factory Black moldings and Vermillion red stripes and is fit with a new interior that is finished in mohair cloth. The Special line in 1941 is reported by the owner as having been available only in Black with Black wheels and Black moldings. The two outer radiator grilles are also finished in Black, and the blackwall tires are most appropriate. The car is very nicely presented and it is also fit with an optional side-view mirror.
The 1941 Fords were introduced with fresh styling and a revamped chassis and were easily recognizable as new for 1941 models. Sources indicate that the Special line of Club Coupe was the most uncommon of the trim levels for this body style. There were 9,823 cars similar to this one built. The Deluxe Club Coupe lists 33,598 similar examples built and the Super Deluxe is represented by 22,878 Club Coupes being produced.
