The Moon Motor Car Company was founded in by Joseph W. Moon and his vehicles were built in St. Louis, Missouri from 1905–1929. The Moon is remembered as a refined, well-built automobile that is visually distinguished by its Rolls-Royce-like radiator shape. Moon produced 5,820 automobiles during the 1923 model year.

This Model 6-40 Moon received a superb restoration in 2003 that was executed to unmodified, stock specifications. The Landau sedan has limited mileage and the car is stated to be “mechanically in almost new condition.” The Moon runs on a vacuum system and has a 195.5-cid six-cylinder engine that is mated to a floor-shift manual transmission. The instruments include a fuel gauge. The car has a two-tone (blue with black fenders) finish with complementary blue cloth interior, landau irons, steel disc-wheels, rear-mounted spare, windshield visor, running board step-plates, nickel-plated radiator shell (topped with motor-meter), headlights and cowllights. The cabin has an accessory rear-seat heater and window shades for privacy. The coachwork is by Pullman, the renowned builders of the famous railroad sleeping cars of the same name. They built car bodies from 1919 to 1925 to a high standard of quality and elegance.
