The 1971 Lincoln Continental MkIII was the final year for this design after having started as a pet project for none other than Henry Ford II himself. Posh and powerful, the MkIII was a pinnacle of American luxury automobile manufacturing. Motor Trend magazine fully agreed after giving the Continental the title of King of the Hill for the second year in a row. King of the Hill was a competition coordinated by the magazine to compare the finest luxury car from Ford against the best from GM.

The lot offered here is a perfect testament to that reputation. From its 460-cid V-8 with automatic transmission to its full complement of power accessories and upscale trim. It also features one of Lincoln’s so called “Glamour Colors”. Offered as an expensive option in 1971, it has become one that is seldom seen today. The Ivy Bronze Moondust with Blue Moondust accent looks as good today as when the car was new, thanks to years of proper care and storage. Reportedly a great running and driving car, this Lincoln MkIII would make a great addition to any collection.
