The 1978 Corvette was little changed at first glance from the previous year. With its good looks, proven performance and reputation among the buying public all solidified there was no need. In acknowledgement of a quarter century of this duty, Chevrolet honored the Corvette with a Silver Anniversary edition. The Indy 500 went one better and honored it with pace car duty for the 1978 running of its race.

To commemorate the pace car selection, Chevrolet gave the Corvette a black over silver paint with unique spoilers, interior trim, and Indy 500 decals for the exterior. These decals were shipped separately to allow the buyer the option of showing them or not. This particular Corvette is adorned with the exciting graphic package.

With less than 900 miles showing on the odometer, this is like buying a 1978 pace car Corvette brand new. The window stickers are still adhered to the windows, the plastic covers for the seats and steering wheel were never removed after shipping.
