The 1969 Camaro carried over the major mechanical components from the year prior, but all-new sheet metal, except for the two deck-lids, gave the car a substantially sportier look. The grille was redesigned with a bold "V" shape and deeply inset headlights. A wider, lower, more aggressive look had been achieved through new rear quarter panels, door panels and rear valance. This handsome body style would be available for the 1969 model year only.

Among the 1969 Camaro RPO engine options, the L89 375-hp big-block with aluminum heads was indisputably the rarest. Only 311 Camaros were sold in 1969 with the L89 option, which were based on the earlier and concurrent L78 396-cid engine, which was rated at 375-hp. The L89 had an 11:1 compression ratio, a high-lift solid lifter camshaft, heavy-duty valve train, four-bolt main bearings, high-flow aluminum heads and the correct 800-cfm carburetor fastened atop a cross-flow aluminum intake manifold. Most L89 Camaros were ordered specifically for the drag strip and were therefore devoid of most options. This example of L89 follows that minimalist philosophy to great effect.

Finished in Daytona Yellow with standard black interior after undergoing an exacting rotisserie restoration. It retains its original X66-Code block aluminum heads, Muncie M21 manual transmission and 12-bolt rear end. The entire driveline has been returned to its original state with quality that will please even the most discriminating collector. The Protect-O-Plate and Bill of Sale are part of the package.

With Camaros impressive Trans-Am racing heritage and success, the muscle car lineage is secure and helps to make this model one of the most sought after American muscle cars.
